Diamante

Diamante is a very nice village on the Tyrrhenian sea, about 25 minutes away from our hotel. It is famous for a typical product of southern Italy, peperoncino (chili pepper). Every year, during the second week of September, Diamante hosts a festival celebrating chili peppers. These are prepared as dried strings, infused into olive oil and made in to a paste known as Calabrese Bomba. There are over one hundred and fifty murals decorating Diamante. The presence of the murals, which are true works of art, gives color to the town and tells stories of everyday life and beyond.
